Lance was born in Ogallala, Nebraska on September 19, 1955. He grew up as part of the third generation of a ranch homesteaded by his grandfather, Chris Harry Johnson, whose wifes mother once worked for Buffalo Bill Cody. Lance was first schooled at a country grade school where there were only two in his class and later went to Arthur County High School where he graduated with a class of twelve. After high school he Drifted around the country, working from job to job, until he ended up in Wyoming where he fell in love with the country and met his wife Linda who has done much of the artwork for his booklets. Both he and his wife can trace their ancestry in this country back to the mid sixteen - hundreds. This has provided a rich and varied American heritage for their three children, Crystal, Kristin, and Christopher, which Lance is proud to recognize. Currently, Lance and family are residing in North Platte, Nebraska, the home of his great, great grandparents. We trust this won't be the last you hear of him. Stay tuned for further writings.
