There’s but two brands in this country, no matter where you go;
It’s one or else the other which each of us must show.
So, which is it you are wearin’, can you even tell?
One leads you straight to heaven, the other straight to hell.
The roundup is a comin’, I’m as certain as can be;
Someday we’ll all be sorted, for all eternity.
Some will go up, some will go down, depending on their brand;
It’s not one’s choice that counts, it’s the side on which they stand.
“Whose brand is on your hip,” our Lord will ask one day;
You can’t be His if you do everything your way.
You must listen to Him closely, if you truly want to hear;
The believin’s often easy, it’s the repent from which folks steer.
The fence lines are clearly marked, we all know when we sin:
For the Bible tells us clearly that His laws are writ within.
You can’t be livin’ yonder in those fields the devil’s sown
Expectin’ God to sweep you up to His heavenly throne.
For, though it’s true He chases all of those who stray away,
You must be in His pasture afore you can ever stray.
When you won’t enter the gate, it’s hard to herd you in;
Thus, you’re still out in the pasture of the one who leads to sin.
The devil’s quick to brand us, each and all, His very own;
He steals, destroys, and kills us till we’re naught but spirit, soul, and bone.
‘Tis a loving Father who calls a wanderer home;
So why, if we are His, would we ever want to roam?
It’s Christ to whom we’ll answer, He gave His life, you see;
The rest is up to us, the brand we’ll wear eternally.
It’s those who ignore this line with which the road to hell is paved,
You must believe and repent and, then, you will be saved.
